On Friday I decided to go for a 50km ride. On my trip I have a couple of long stints in the saddle. In Italy, there will be two rides of 60km! I thought it would be a wise move to get the miles in my legs before I leave. It will be reassuring to know that I can take down the longer rides with no fear. The weather was decent so I set off in good spirits. The first half of the trip was pretty plain sailing but once I reached Mousehall (another excellent Cornish name) things started getting difficult. There is one hill that seems almost vertical (haha) and another toughie just around the corner. I managed to navigate these successfully and continued on my way home. After 2 hours and 45 minutes I made it back safely. The final distance was 53km! I was really pleased to get this under my belt. A sit down and a rest was my first port of call. My brother is arriving tomorrow so I’m sure the workout will continue! Hopefully the legs will be ok!
