My quest for more knowledge about the state of my hip led me to Dr Stephen Bloor, a podiatrist based in Hayle with excellent credentials and experience. I made an appointment and drove over to his clinic. He assesses my legs and walking and concludes that I need to have a raise of 1cm put on my shoe. I used to wear these types of shoes when I was growing up so I knew that I would look cool. My limp is quite pronounced so anything to assist me with my walking would be a benefit. I went hunting for some new shoes and sent the right one off to have its makeover. Three more rides this week so I’m feeling more confident as time goes by. The Friday ride was certainly eventful because of a bike malfunction. The handlebars came loose so I was unable to pedal. A quick phone call to International Rescue (Mum) saved me as she came out to meet me with the necessary tools. After some excellent repair work I was ready to go and off I set into the driving rain. It really was great fun and I loved every minute of it!
